CLASS DESCRIPTIONS

Cardio Step

This class is a low impact, high intensity step class for those looking for a cardiovascular workout.

Day/Time:  Mondays / 9:00am-10:00am

Instructor Choice

The instructor chooses the format for this hour-long class designed to improve cardio endurance and muscular strength for a great overall workout.

Day/Time:  Wednesdays / 9:00am-10:00am

Cardio Circuit

Participants will rotate around different cardio workout stations to get the ultimate workout. Stations include: Step, free weights, stability balls, and more.

SilverSneakers®Classic

Have fun and move to the music through a variety of exercises designed to increase muscular strength, range of movement, and activities for daily living. Hand-held weights, elastic tubing with handles, and a SilverSneakers®  ball are offered for resistance. A chair is available if needed for seated or standing support.

SilverSneakers®Yoga

SilverSneakers® Yoga will move your whole body through a complete series of seated and standing yoga poses. Chair support is offered to safely perform a variety of seated and standing postures designed to increase flexibility, balance, and range of movement. Restorative breathing exercises and final relaxation will promote stress reduction and mental clarity.

ADDITIONAL CLASSES OFFERED

Aikido &  Iaido

Traditional Japanese martial arts training.  All instructors are members of the USAF, AUSKF, and AEUSKF. A Japanese martial art with Jujitsu roots makes Aikido a viable martial art. Aikido works to increase body strength, mind, and spirit.

Aikido for Kids

Aikido strengthens the body, mind and spirit. It also promotes self-defense, flexibility, strength building and coordination. Students will learn the different techniques that keep this martial art popular.

Tri-City Dancers

Kripalu Yoga

All-levels of yoga provides a safe, accepting place to breathe and move and in the process stretch, de-stress and gain flexibility, strength, balance and connection.

Bharatanatyam Lessons – 5 week session

Sudharsana Srinivasan is an accomplished Bharatanatyam dancer, who is also trained in the South Indian Classical Music style of Carnatic Music. Since moving to the US in 1995, Sudharsana continued her passion for the art form as a teacher and artistic director of Ragahastha Performing Arts (http://ragahastha.weebly.com/). A creative artist and choreographer, Sudharsana has worked with different art forms (Kuchipudi, Odissi, Kathak, Modern and Tap). In each of these collaborations, Sudharsana was able to highlight the beauty of Bharata Natyam in its traditional glory and bring in a new perspective to the choreography.
