Domestic Violence Counselor

Objective:  Facilitate group sessions and provide assessment, counseling, referral services, and domestic violence education to women who are victims of domestic violence and their children.

Responsibilities:

  1. Provide services as required by the YWCA NorthEastern NY’s Mission, policies and procedures
  2. Provide individual and group counseling to Women and Families Services sheltered and non-sheltered clients
  3. Carry out intake, statistical reporting and program responsibilities as directed
  4. Provide education and referral services

Qualifications:  BA degree in counseling or a related field with a minimum of two years’ experience in DV or crisis counseling; clean driver’s license and car available for use during work hours. Spanish speaking preferable.

Accountable To:  Counseling Coordinator

Hours:  Full-Time, flexible hours with some evening sessions

DSS Case Manager

 Objective:  The DSS Case Manager performs intakes with Shelter clients, completes assessments, and works with clients to develop action plans.  The DSS Case Manager works with clients and DSS (Department of Social Services) to access appropriate  services and conduct follow-up.  This is a full-time position with some flexibility.

Responsibilities:

  1. Provide services as required by the YWCA NorthEastern NY’s Mission and as required by funding sources.
  2. Deliver intake, statistical reporting and program responsibilities
  3. Develop action plans for clients in cooperation with YWCA advocates and counselors, and DSS staff.
  4. Have a working knowledge of the legal and social service systems
  5. Provide information, support, assurance and guidance to clients
  6. Maintain client files and other records necessary for shelter operations
  7. Document and submit reports as needed

Qualifications:  Bachelor’s degree in human services, sociology or related field; and/or applicable experience in social services, women’s housing or domestic violence; clean driver’s license and car available for use during work hours.

Accountable To:  DV Shelter Coordinator

Hours:  Full-Time, flexible hours

Domestic Violence Shelter Case Manager

Objective:  The Women’s Case Manager performs intakes with clients, completes assessments, and works with clients to develop action plans.  The Women’s Case Manager works with clients to access appropriate referral services and does follow-up.  This is a part-time position Mondays-Wednesdays from 7:00 pm – 11:00 pm and Saturdays and Sundays from 3:00 pm – 11:00 pm (total of 28 hours per week).

Responsibilities:

  1. Provide services as required by the YWCA NorthEastern NY’s Mission and as required by funding sources.
  2. Deliver intake, statistical reporting and program responsibilities
  3. Develop action plans for clients in cooperation with advocates and counselors
  4. Have a working knowledge of the legal and social service systems

  6. Maintain client files and other records necessary for shelter operations
  7. Document and submit reports as needed

Infant/Toddler Teacher for Early Head Start

Responsibilities:

  1. Plan educational activities
  2. Supervise children
  3. Follow the daily schedule
  4. Work as a team member with all staff
  5. Flexible work schedule
  6. Comply with Early Head Start program initiatives
  7. Adhere to the NYSOCFS child care regulations
  8. Assist with documentation and reports for the classroom
  9. Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:  Current CDA required; AAS in Education preferred; with a minimum 1 year experience in an Early Childhood learning center. First Aid and CPR certified within 60 days of hiring. Medication Administrative Training preferred.

Accountable To:  Youth & Family Services Director

Hours:  Monday – Fridays – full time
