Domestic Violence Shelter Coordinator
Early Learning Center (ELC) Office Assistant

Domestic Violence Shelter Coordinator

Objective:  Implement and provide oversight for the daily administrative, operational and case management duties of the YWCA Domestic Violence Shelter program. Provides professional leadership in a membership organization.                     

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Provide support to women and men seeking DV shelter services in accordance to the YWCA’s mission, policies and procedures
  2. Oversee the complete operation of the DV Shelter Program
  3. Provide support and oversee case management to women, men and children enrolled in the program
  4. Supervise staff, volunteers, and interns assisting with the program
  5. Maintain statistical reporting as required
  6. Assist with grants related to the program
  7. Represent the YWCA on various task forces, committees and boards related to our mission
  8. Maintain partnerships with area service providers
  9. Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:  Bachelor’s degree in criminology, human services, or related field, plus two years’ supervisory experience in adult housing or shelter services; or an Associate’s degree and five years’ experience supervising adult housing or shelter programs.

Accountable To:  Women & Family Services Director

Hours:  Monday-Friday, Full-time

Early Learning Center (ELC) Office Assistant

Objective:  Responsible for functions relating to the educational program of the YWCA Northeastern NY’s Early Childhood Centers and office support.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Assists Site Coordinators with light office work such as copying, filing and maintaining bulletin boards at both sites.
  2. Prepares monthly ELC newsletters
  3. Maintains statistics and records at both sites
  4. Assists with reports, correspondence and memos as needed
  5. Helps cover classrooms as needed
  6. Assists with serving lunch/snacks and clean up
  7. Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:  High School Diploma or GED required with two years’ experience in office/clerical work. Excellent computer skills and ability to prioritize and organize workflow daily. Adaptable to change, flexible in daily routines. Sensitivity to the needs of the YWCA children, parents, and teachers. Clean NYS Driver’s license.

Accountable To:  Youth and Family Services Director

Hours:  Monday-Friday, part-time at 15 hours per week; 10:00 am – 1:00 pm, with some flexibility
